Then you'd have been sent off, most likely cost your team the game, and gifted Suarez the outcome he was hoping for.

If i remember rightly a lot of people here were calling for Cork players to do this after the Nichoals Murphy incident and were saying they should have piled in.

Ya, but you can get away with a lot of things in Gaelic that wouldn't be tolerated in soccer. Sometimes I think the referees in Gaelic Sports are making a mockery of their code's rules, in fact more than sometimes- it's the norm. How many days do you see x team or x player and you just know that short of decapitating an opponent they won't see a red card. It's probably the single most annoying thing about GAA for me, soccer refs can be terribly inconsistent (even on matters where they are not required to use their own initiative in terms of interepretting) but GAA refs take the buscuit, half of them seem to be making it up as they go along.

It's easy. Simply decouple yourself. Not from the club - that would be unthinkable - but from the unspoken and assumed demands that come with the idea of fandom: blind loyalty, a complete lack of perspective, and the forfeiting of all rational thought. If somebody wearing your sacred symbol makes an arse out himself, call it wrong. If somebody in your colours does something hideous, call it wrong. That way lies liberation and sanity. If you're willing and able to say "him, there. Our winger. What a shit", and it's a fair comment, then you don't become any less of a fan. But you become considerably more of a human being.
With all due respect Stevie, you're incapable of the above when it comes to United. You are loyal beyond logic.

I could say that you and others are pretty incapable of the above when it comes to United too

and point to a hundred threads

But i've work to do now

Plenty of people in the Suarez Evra case made up their mind on it early, with many calling Suarez guilty and many calling Evra guilty

i did not and have often criticised United and their players when they are out of order

It seems like you want credit for that though or something? I don't take too much notice of most comments on here, and certainly don't have a photographic memory of them so i'm not sure what the general consensus was, but I would have thought most people were in the 'who knows' camp, though a lot believed it was made up because Evra had form for that kind of thing.
