'These clowns' being the gallaghers I presume?

This is a Noel Gallagher thread, and there's every chance that his party is still going.

I'll reserve judgement until I hear the new album.

The fanboys who never grew out of Oasis will flock to his rubbish but when the last time either of these jokers had a hit?

I couldnt name you a Gallagher song penned in the last ten years.

Hes shit, Liam's shit. A mediocre band who outstayed their welcome and never developed musically amid a cloud of drugs and hype.

He probably models himself on Paul Weller, thats how big a tosser Noel is.

Thankfully, a song doesn't have to be a 'hit' to be a good one. More often than not the best sellings songs are mediocre at best and from artists who rarely last for more than two albums.

It's interesting that you say they're gone to shit since morning glory, yet you don't know any of their songs from the last ten years. And that you know about their musical development without having listened to them.

It sounds like your basing your opinions on other people's. I'm not saying they've done anything good in the last ten years, but it doesn't sound like you're in a position to judge.

I've listened to their albums since, Be here now, Standing on the shoulder of giants, etc, etc.

They were crap.

I base my opinions on the music I hear, and theirs is garbage.

etc. etc.? By your own admission you haven't heard any of the songs on their last three albums. So you don't like be here now and unsurprisingly you don't like (their worst album) standing on the shoulders of giants. I find that basing my opinions on music I hear is a good idea as well, but you seem confused as to what you've actually heard. It's more likely that you don't like the gallaghers or their attitudes and you don't like anything you've heard since their first two albums, which is perfectly fine, but you can't really say much about their recent achievements if you know nothing about what they've produced. Pedantic I know, but important to distinguish all the same.

Can't wait to hear it myself. Looking forward to the release. Noel himself was 'Oasis' in reality, has written some superb tunes, spread over all of the albums, even the more recent Oasis ones.

This is still my favourite track though. Loving the strings.
