Default Bye Bye Cork Comedy

Attention Cork Comedians!
Your reign of comedy is coming to an end.
As part of the Cork Midsummer Festival Cork Arts Theatre plays host to an extraordinary evening of anti-humour propaganda, "The Threat of Humour": see the history of humour in Cork outlined in the UCC commissioned "Crying Laughing" documentary; observe respected dramatist Karen Kelleher's take on the subject in the startling "Delicate Veil" - a newly discovered fairy tale text outlawing laughter; most amazingly observe "Own", humanity's first ever being to be raised in a humour-free environment let loose on the public for the very first time!... His appearance at "The Threat of Humour" may see his very first smile... Or will it?!!!!

Hi laoi10 I was going to reply sooner to your comments but I kept falling asleep half way through your remarks, Cork comedians reign of comedy is coming to an end ? am I correct in assuming you dont do comedy ? if I'm wrong then sorry, but if you were a comedian, more so a Cork comedian then you would be well aware any comedian's "reign" comes at the end of their gig ( or sooner if their gig is crap , and I speak from experience ) and continues that way until their next gig, so I doubt if Cork comedians ( or any comedian ) would be worried by your prediction of our demise, bye bye

Hello Pat,
I am glad you have taken my warning so seriously, and feel I should answer the questions so sternly demanded of me. Still awake? Perhaps I should throw in a punchline here to keep your attention:... "I thought it was supposed to bleed".
I am from Cork. I am a comedian. I accept your apology.
Your definition of reign is a little narrow, in that it leaves out the rather essential quantity that is "subject"; in this case "audience". Once my campaign has ended you may well still "reign", precisely as you define it, but it will be over dark despised caverns filled only with the sad sympathetic chuckles of fellow comedians.
The end is nigh. Laugh while you can.
