Default No show restaurant charges

I think restaurants are trying to bring this in. They say they're loosing out big time on no show reservations. How would you feel about a 10 euro charge ?

I suppose if you book and then don't even ring them to cancel its fair enough right ?

Sounds sensible.

I wonder would they give me €10 if they had to cancel my reservation though? Or move it to a different time?

Does that happen ? I've been waiting once or twice but never cancelled.

Paying not to eat at a restaurant seems unfair, although if the restaurant cant fill the seat I guess the charge can be justified.

You pay for lots of things if you don't show up though, seems reasonable to me tbh

Rare I suppose.

It happened to me iin a restuarant in Killarney once. They were very nice, very apologetic but it was a pain at the time.

I dont think anyone should be charged if they cancel up to say four or five hours before the reservation time.

Shit happens and people cant always make these things and restuarants should realise this.

I think it's fair enough. By not turning up for a booking you're costing them money.
