Was at that and I thought the pitch is looking parched. White's Cross were a goal and 5 down at half time but scored a goal and a point in the first few minutes of second half with the wind and the sun behind them. Instead of going for points they tried in vain for a couple of goals and then Killavullen scored a lobbed goal - full forward in splendid isolation, keeper came out to him, ball sent up and over. Pretty much killed the game as a contest then.

Killavullens full forward was Barry Murphy, All Ireland winner with Clare in 97

Killavullen were probably worthy winners of this County Championship. Huge work going on into their underage by all accounts. Well done to them. This was their path to the final according to the Cork GAA website:

Killavullen 2-14 Whites Cross 1-8 - Final
Killavullen 0-22 Rathpeacon 0-10 - Semi-Final
Killavullen 3-22 Belgooly 0-1 - Quarter-Final
Killavullen 2-14 Whites Cross 1-9 - Round 1.

Barry Murphy, All Ireland Winner for Clare in '97, was full forward but is also Killavullen's Team Manager and Club Chairman.

It's gas to see they met in first round too and it was 2-14 to 1-9

Practically the same score!

Heard Newcestown were thrown out of the Carbery championship as they couldn't field. Very harsh.
