TigerJobs sounds great, but limited to China, I travelled to two different projects in South Africa with www.i-to-i.com. It gave me a passport to the good life! I got a recognised TEFL (Teach English as a foreign Language) certificate in only one weekend. No experience or qualifications necessary. Job placement advice, 8500 contacts worldwide paid teaching in lots of destinations! I would reccommend it to anyone.

Hi Catwomansupergirl,

I bet you had a great time in South Africa, however Tiger Jobs does not offer positions in Africa as they are primarily involved in the continent of Asia. South Korea, China, Hong Kong & Thailand are the main markets they recruit for. Japan should be online early in 2007. Tiger Jobs offers career oppurtunities to all succesfully interviewed candidates. Tiger Jobs also has a range of TEFL courses available to meet teacher training needs. For any of you members who might be interested in teaching in South Korea remember despite what you may read on other websites the only requirements for teaching there is a recognised degree of any discipline, be a native english speaker from one of the 7 designated english speaking countries and be an outgoing and motivitated person. There is absolutely no truth to having a TEFL qualification in order to teach in South Korea. In relation to China, there are still provinces who will accept teachers without degrees and Tiger Jobs offers successful candidates to the opportunity to undertake our 100 TEFL course and get placed in a school in one of these provinces. for more infomration on Tiger Jobs visit http://www.tigerjobs.ie. I hope you find it useful catwomansupergirl!

It can be difficult without experience to find a job in Hong Kong, but not impossible.

Tigerjobs, you mention above that Japan will be online in 2007. As yet, there is no information about this on the website. Any information you could give here?

Thanks

Default Teaching English Overseas

Hi everyone,

Just to let you all know, we are currently accepting applications for teaching positions in South Korea, China, Taiwan & Vietnam.

Our positions in South Korea seem to be the most popular positions with applicants as teachers don't need a TEFL cert or teaching experience. Also teacher placements are completely FREE.

The only two requirements are you must be a native English speaker and hold a degree of any discipline from a I.T. or university.

I've included the package below offered for South Korea. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me.

Remuneration Package
Starting Date: Every Month
Location: Seoul & All of Seoul’s Suburbs & satellite cities, Busan, Daegu, Incheon, Daejeon, Ulsan, Gwangju, Jinju, Pohang, Changwon, Cheongju & more…
Salary: 2,000,000 KRW – 2,700,000 KRW per month (Tax 3.3 – 6%)
Contract Length: 12 Months
Number of Teaching Hours: 25 - 30 teaching hours / week.
Housing: FREE & Furnished (semi to fully furnished)
Travel: Flight Prepaid
Health Insurance: 50% paid by employer
Vacations: Paid vacations plus all national holidays
Visa: Visa sponsored by employer
Airport Pick-up: Teachers will be met at the airport on arrival

Also, i wanted to let anyone who is thinking of doing a TEFL course to be careful about what courses you sign up for. We also do weekend TEFL courses www.teflcompany.com for anyone who wants to do one, but of course they are not a requirement for teaching in South Korea, China or Taiwan.

Weekend & online TEFL courses are merely foundation courses to help you build the confidence you need to face your first classes and teach you the basic fundamentals of TEFL. For anyone who would like to teach TEFL at some point in Ireland or even Vietnam (we have positions here), you should undertake a CELTA course. There is a big price difference.

I hope this posting is useful for anyone thinking about teaching English overseas and remember NEVER to pay placements fees. Why would you, when Tiger English is always looking for more teachers!

You can email me kralph@tigerenglish. com if you want to ask any questions.

I wouldn't recommend i-to-i to anyone at all. Heard nothing but bad things about them to be honest. As the guy says the best way to go is the CELTA.
Your post looks like you cut and pasted it, by the way.
