What crystalised it all for me was hearing in a Fianna Fail meeting in the early 1980s and I a relatively stary-eyed youngster thinking the best of people and that folk were in politics for the right reason, when I heard a particular party hack say "If it's good enough for Fianna Fail it's good enough for Ireland". He was applauded and used the phrase repeatedly afterwards.
There were decent some people in FF back then who were trying to do the right thing for society in general and their community in particular, but you could see the sleveens manoeuvring and side-tracking them. They still thought they could do the right thing in spite of being bypassed, but the sleveens knew they'd get to do things their own way. And they convinced themselves that what ever was right for them, was de facto right for the country.

I opted out.

I joined Sinn Fein. They're not terrorists Brad. It's nearly a generation passed since the ceasefire and the Good Friday Agreement was signed.

Just how far back does one go to say such-and-such a party were closely linked with terrorism?

Unlike Fianna Fail, SF TDs never brought guns into the Dail.
Unlike Fianna Fail, nobody in SF was accused of personation in this country.
Unlike Fianna Fail, nobody in SF ever double voted in the Dail.

You ever see any one here defending FF in any those actions?

I've seen you deflect from those actions though Brad.

And you like to criticise members of other parties for stuff members of FF have been guilty of too. Funny that.

Link to me deflecting from those actions? If someone posted here defending FF and their actions they would also get it in the neck the same as you do for supporting and defending SF and their heinous actions. After three years you still can't grasp this simple point.

Just read your contributions to this very thread Brad. How quickly you forget when it suits you

What heinous actions have Sinn Fein perpetrated Brad?

Good Friday Agreement is more than 20 years on you know.

If you benchmark yourself against FF then that's fine.

But as I have said multiple times about SFFG: they're all the same.

In Newry and Armagh, Seamus Mallon's posters were torn down systematically by Sinn Fein. In Down South, Eddie McGrady reported intimidation of voters.

In West Tyrone, SF thugs threw missiles at Brid Rodgers, ordered her out of "our territory", threatened her canvassers and intimidated people from putting SDLP posters in their windows.
