If I was in Versatile, a dissing from the Irish Times and Seamus O'Reilly is exactly what I'd be hoping for.

When I saw their stuff online initially I didn't pay them much attention, but I have to say on further viewing (I think I was drawn back to it because the production is top class), the satire is impressive.

It's strikes a delicate balance whereby lots of people don't pick up on it and take them at face value, but if you look a lot of their stuff and pay attention to the lyrics it's clear they're taking the piss.

Agreed Fusty.

The lads sound like they are taking the absolute piss, which is why half their detractors can't stand them.

A lot of jealousy from these srs hip hop artistes

Default Funny?

The Rubberbandits 'take the piss' and lot's of us laugh. Because it's funny and creative. Nobody is driven to violence by the Rubbers.
Versatile 'take the piss' and the Ute kick each others faces in.
Versatile are not funny. Just crude Shit Stirring with obvious predictable results.
This is just boring repetition. Punk was a revolution against 'The Man' 'Corporate Music'. Yeah a revolt against The Beatles and their Apple Corps. That went well.

The Rubber bandits are shite. A pair of woke dickhead arts students who think they're social commentators because they had a novelty hit single about 5 years ago.

I dont know anything about Versatile. If the kids love them and the Irish Times find them 'problematic' then they're OK in my book.

They do their own videos apparently. That K song has pretty high production values and is firmly fellas taking the piss.

That the Times attacks them for being white and the school they went to is pathetic tbh.

They are very poor live but that YouTube video for ketamine taken as a whole is one of the better pieces of independent media to come out of Ireland in recent memory. In the midst of the current moralising woke youth media scene Versatile are a genuine breath of fresh air

I'd have more time for these lads than those Limerick pricks with the plastic bags on their heads.
