Default Arcade Fire - the suburbs.

Anybody heard the new Arcade Fire album. Just got it this afternoon and gave it two listens. So far so good. Not bad at all. It is possibly a little bit by the numbers but a few more listens should give me a better perspective. Anyway, anybody else heard it ?

It's too long and too samey, the lyrics are stupid sometimes too. But it's decent. I like that they're trying to be a band, as opposed to sticking strings over everything.

I've only just listened to it, but first impressions are of a good album, not a great album (like their other two). I like it though. Only slightly disappointed just because I have such great expectations of them. My favourite tracks are probably 'We Used to Wait' and 'Sprawl II'.

Their string arrangements have been one of the best things about them.

It shouldnt take anywhere near 3 years to make an album,Dylan made the Holy Trinity in 18 months as well as touring(and in nowhere near the comfort of todays bands)thats 3 jaw droppingly brilliant albums written, recorded and released over a year and a half,The Beatles made 2 or 3 albums a year(and toured until 66)this huge gap between albums has only been around for the last 20 years(i blame U2 for starting this bullshit)it has no reflection on the quality of a record the time it takes to make it(though obviously some albums by their nature take longer than others)R.E.M have it written into their contract that they cant release 2 albums within 18 months of each other(not a problem for them now)its marketing and business crap

But no,3 years is not acceptable really, its ridiculous....how long will it take them in 10 years?
