1970 - Bernadette Devlin was elected to Westminster in a by-election for the Mid-Ulster constituency as a Unity candidate. At the age of 22 Devlin became the youngest woman ever elected to the House of Commons and the youngest MP in half a century. (Pacemaker, TPS/Central Press)
