Default Wenger

I don't say this lightly but all things considered he must be the greatest manager of the contemporary era.

I don't think I have ever see teams play soccer like this, its better than Brazil.

Plus he does it with players plucked from relative obscurity, a feat that is unheard in the current climate of buying success.

Look at last nights team

Almunia,
Sagna, Toure, Gallas, Clichy,
Eboue, Fabregas, Flamini, Hleb,
Adebayor, Walcott

From what I can see, this probably cost less than Wayne Rooney, a good bit less.

What a manager.

Barcelona and Chelsea are relative obscurity?

Peter Kenyon will not like that!

P.S.

6-3 (work it out, i'll be back later)

Can't say I'd agree with the relative obscurity bit Lamps.

By my rough calculations Wengers net spend for the past 10 years has been, .....wait for it......about 35 million pounds. I'm open to correction on this figure but its more or less on the money from what I can see.

That's what Roy Keane has spunked(net) in a transfer window this year or the cost of the Nani/Anderson.

Its time the bumsplappers gave credit where its due. The man is a genius.

Fair enough

But the likes of Eboue, Clichy, Fabregas or Toure were not household names or anywhere near it before Wenger

true, but would Fabregas have gone on to be a household name at Barca, given his talent, more than likely.

Eboue and Toure were trafficked from Arsenal's sordid little arrangement in the Ivory Coast.

I would not be giving them much credit for that at all.

Fabregas was poached from Barcelona and had just starred in some youth international tournament beforehand.

Think of the forewarning we got about Joe Canning.

So basically, they've tied up the cream of French soccer, are looting Africa and poached Fabregas from one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Anything else?
