We could get a Luas too, while we're at it, and a submarine taxi service, between cobh and the city. Would be great craic, and wouldnt upset the rowing club.

will declare a vested interest and say I hope that doesn't happen.

also indicates how many few bands Cork produces that are worth a slot of such a nature. There were few bands coming down from Dublin to do the slots either

Live Nation/Aikens/MCD, etc don't give a flying fuck about cork in the long term (i can see all the profits being repatriated to dublin and/or wherever live nation are based) so it's up to the council to build in conditions that might see some cork bands benefit in some small way.

A 5,000 seated concert and event centre has to be a positive for Cork's hotels, bars, restaura nts and clubs etc and if there are Cork based acts good enough and big enough to get in there in merit I am sure that they will.

Hvaing roads and trains full of Cork people heading off to Dublin or Killarney every other weekend to see international acts as the second city does not have good enough venues is a joke in 2009.

It will be in the docklands as part of Howard Holdings scheme which has planning afaik.

Build it and they will come.

Yup

Pairc Ui Chaoimh is in shit

Unfortunately

Great spot in it's day
