Savages. This is totally outrageous and extremely dangerous.

Lovely "spectacle" from the "creme de la creme".
It's a horrible activity and should be banned. Simple as.

Agreed Róisín.
I think that it's regarded as a "tradition" rather than a sport tbh.
Traditions can be forced to "die" though and it's about time this happened to fox-hunting.

The kind of people you'd like to see crash their vehicles a long as some innocent third party wasn't involved!

Foxes are such beautiful creatures, although not very popular with folk who keep chickens. But most folk who keep chickens are idiots and make the worst chicken coops. The fox gets in and everything dies, not because the fox kills everything but because the chickens panic and end up killing themselves trying to get through the coop etc. The fox only wants one chicken, a farmer I know told me he never locks his chickens in a coop, preferring instead to let them roam free. He claims it's rare enough that one of his chicken gets killed and if a fox does get passed the dogs, it will take just one chicken.

I've noticed whenever a scumbag gets in the news like that guy who shot a girl in the neck or the wanker who threw the half dead eel into the swimming pool at the Kingsly or for violent crime etc, a lot of the time you'll see fox killing pics on their FB profiles. Scumbags are quite proud of killing foxes, travellers are mad for it too and badgers are another favorite because the little fellas put up such a fight, which apparently adds to the "sport".

DAWG posted this yesterday.

WARNING GRAPHIC PIC- We apologise for the upsetting picture but feel that we need to post the story. This fox was just one of the victims of the St Stephens day hunt yesterday. He ran into a garden of a housing estate in Macroom and was chased by the hounds of the local hunt. This horrific ordeal happened on private property in front of young children. It proves that the hunt have no regard for either animals nor people. A lot of people will blame the hounds but they are only doing what they have been trained to do by the hunt. Other people will say " well its only a fox ". To us and to the Lady whose garden he was killed in he was more, he was an innocent animal and he was killed in the most horrific way in the name of sport . A sport which is despicable and cruel to all the animals involved. Minister Michael Creed recently stated that he had no intention of banning bloodsports. Now is the time to write to him and ask him does he find this acceptable carry on in his home town of Macroom?
