Susan James - 'Sea Glass' cd/lp/dd - SJM - October 2nd 2015

For her new (6th) album, James has teamed up with Sean O’Hagan of the esteemed High Llamas to work alongside her in developing the rich landscapes created on Sea Glass. The fascinating new recordings include a broadened instrumental landscape of strings, flutes, harpsichords, keyboards, marimba and James’ rich vocal arrangements. Friends for years Susan and Sean met through mutual friend, the late Mary Hansen of Stereolab. It was with Mary that Susan sang back up vocals on two High Llamas albums: 2000's "Buzzle Bee", 2003's "Beet, Maize & Corn". Previous album, 'Driving Toward The Sun' (2013) met with much critical acclaim. The beautiful layered honey vocals, retro instrumental passages, and haunting melodies of SEA GLASS looks set to do the same.
