If we develop our game, we should have no fear of going head to head with Sweden. Those fuckers seem to have a serious knack of qualifying though.
Sweden have some good ball players in the middle of the park and they are young enough. They will be tough but they are beatable. But come September who knows what squad we will have as someone mentioned we could see anything up to 4 players retire.

Keane is around 33 as well and Dunne is into his thirties as well.

Pity Ward isn't into his thirties.

He mentioned something bout it being time for young players to be given a chance

I've a feeling Keane will stay on

Whoever retires I give them their dues, players like Given/Duff/Dunne and Keane played there heart out and were proud to play for Ireland whenever they were in the squad.

I'd like to see the likes Colin Doyle (26) given a few games as he held his own last season with Birmingham.

Duffy (Everton), Clarke (Villa) all quality players coming through.

Maybe John Rooney up front? - I joke.

Is it one automatic and one into a play off

The qualifiers will consist of nine groups, beginning in September 2012 with 13 teams qualifying for the finals in Brazil.

So that would most likely be 9 group winners, and the 8 best runners up going into play offs to provide the other 4.

If we can qualify for Brazil from a group containing the Germans and the Swedes, Trap should be made president.
