Overall it’s just a far better product . It’s the most I’ve consistently enjoyed a wrestling show since 2001.

NJPW are doing good business , Impact and ROH are still around and now AEW looks like it might deliver and live up to expectations .
AEW also plan to release a video game in the coming weeks, which could be a huge money spinner for them .

Amazing to think that AEW only got started because of a $5 dollar bet between Cody Rhoades and a wrestling journalist on Twitter !!!

Yeah , it’s being bankrolled by Tony Kahn and his father who also owns an NFL team and Fulham FC. Who is also worth nearly 9 Billion USD.

If they could turn a profit this year then the whole thing is a success, as WWE guys contracts come up it will be interesting to see who makes the jump.
Finn Balor, Daniel Bryan are two names I reckon will show up in AEW at some point.

luke harper was looking to leave wwe when his contract was up. vince triggered a clause in his contract to keep him for another six months despite him not even wrestling. he’s not a happy man at all. went on a rant on twitter last week about nxt. he’s back on the roster again but i’d say vince is shitting it about anyone jumping ship.

AEW's Cody Rhodes has all but confirmed the company's upcoming game will be in the same mould as Nintendo 64 classic No Mercy, one of the most enduringly popular examples from the genre.

Speaking with Wrestling with Mazique, The American Nightmare was asked whether AKI, the developers behind No Mercy and a string of similar N64 wrestling titles - now trading under the name Syn Sophia - were involved with the new game. Cody didn't answer affirmatively, but did say:

"I can't say much, but what I will say is that it is the game people have been asking for. It's the game we've been hinting at."
Since AEW's formation, hardcore gamer Kenny Omega has directly contacted Syn Sophia on social media, whilst Dynamite's home television network TNT tweeted a mockup of a fantasy N64 game licensed by the company.

Given Cody's comments, and the apparent desire from within the promotion, it seems almost certain that AEW's debut game will be fan-pleasing nostalgia fest. It seems just a question of ensuring Syn Sophia are on board.

AKI's very first game was set in the squared-circle. The company, then operating under the name The Man Breeze, released Virtual Pro-Wrestling on the PlayStation in 1996, before earning a WCW license. They developed two games for the Atlanta company - WCW vs. nWo: World Tour and WCW/nWo Revenge - before WWE acquired their services.

WWF WrestleMania 2000 was followed by No Mercy, which earned widespread acclaim as the best wrestling game released to date.“

For those curious, this is their 2’nd tier show “AEW Dark” which is a one hour show that airs free on YouTube but it gives you an idea of their show.

Genius move by Randy Orton on Twitter. His contract is up
For renewal soon and he is doing his best to start a bidding war.

“Could Randy Orton be the next big defectee from WWE to AEW in the, erm, Wednesday Night Wars? If you're to believe his recent Instagram shenanigans, the answer is a firm "definitely maybe".

The Viper snapped a photo of himself gurning next to an elevator plaque reading "Elite level", accompanied with the caption: "tick tock tick tock". Tagged in the post are AEW stars Chris Jericho and Cody, plus wantaway WWE talent The Revival and Luke Harper and injured superstars Riddick Moss and Elias.

Oh, and where was this elevator? AEW's home of Jacksonville, Florida.

The AEW champ replied, telling Orton he'd see what he could do if he sent in "a tape and some pix."

The tick-tock business seems to be a direct reference to The Revival and Harper waiting out the length of their contracts. Extra was added on to the latter's to make up for the time he missed recuperating from wrist surgery.

There's obviously an implicit suggestion over the contract status of the injured Elias - who was verbally buried by Stephanie McMahon on WWE's recent draft - and Riddick Moss, who returned to action last December.

A few weeks back, Orton sweet-talked AEW whilst live-streaming from his gaming account, describing the company as "f*ckin' cool".

He further added that he'd "love" to work with Sammy Guevara.

A fire with smoke - or just Orton playing master troll?”
