i never thought the words would come from me but fair play to dublin. i’d prefer if neither them nor kerry ever won an all-ireland again but that’s the way she goes.

with any luck the gaa dinosaurs are wiped soon out and theres a proper structure applied to the championship because imo the current one is shambolic.
Not as long as there's jobs for the boys at provincial level

Theyve played 7 finals to win their 5 in a row.
Drawn 2,
Won two by a point,
Won 2 of the other three in the last 10 minutes.

They're streets ahead of everyone in the country and are the greatest team ever. .

But Kerry won their 4 in a row finals by far bigger margins.

Obviously I was wrong. The whole thing was utterly absorbing from May to September. Edge of the seat stuff all the way.

You have to hand it to the Dubs - their win yesterday has set an unprecedented all Ireland record 5 in a row. Incredible.

This should make Cork and all the other counties really want to up their game.

Yes, it should drive Cork on to get promotion up to Division 2 in the league under the current management.

Greatest team to ever play gaelic games, without question.
They have totally dominated the decade winning 7 of 10 titles available.
Their start to the second half against Mayo in the semi was the most ruthless and efficient 15 minutes I've ever witnessed on a gaa field.
Massive kudos due to them!
You'd hope for everyone else's sake that the imminent retirement of Jim Gavin will lead to a drop in standards which allows the other teams to close the gap and eventually topple them.

Should have been a free out for the goal. Ridiculous amount of steps taken. Totally different game then.

🤔
Back then Kerry only had to win a Munster Final, an AI Semi and an AI Final to be champions.
In general they won by big margins because their opponents were just not up to it. What were their winning margins in 1980 and 1981 btw? They did beat a waning Dublin side well in 1978 and 79.

Agreed..back then semis were a slam dunk for Kerry, Ulster counties were very poor.

True.
However, Monaghan took Kerry to a replay in 1985 afaicr. They were a decent side from 84-87.
