For once we're in agreement, he's done little for Cork.

They do make mincemeat of him. Enda is a bit dim.

And so the political savagery goes on, round and round it goes. People with such vehement opinions clawed into the morass of the false arena of the supposed righteousness of democratic political discussion. Yet you people here continue to participate in the game. What has been constructed before us is a black room with no way out. No way out.

14 already years at the cabinet table. Giving him another 5 more would be bananas. He and FF are all over the place. They don't know their arse from their elbow.

Ffs, the penny has not dropped with the posters on here. Cowen, Martin, Harney, O'Reilly and now Varadkar, have totally failed as ministers of health.

Nobody that you could think of, can make a difference. The fact is that the 100,000 thousand strong health service is run for the benefit of its employees - from the consultants, management, admin down to the ambulance drivers and porters.

The nurses in some hospitals in Dublin nearly went on strike a few weeks ago, in protest against the conditions in A&E. The strike was averted when they were given a pay rise, increased time off and the creation of a few management positions for them. That will help the A&E situation.

Now, another group of nurses in some other hospitals are threatening strike action - again, ostensibly in the interest of patient care - this will, undoubtedly have the same type of solution as the first group of nurses got.

Spending on the health services was trebled between 2002 and 2007. We finished up with a little improvement in the service - but the major achievement was that we finished up with the most highly paid health care staff in the EU.
