I think that there is a collective sense of denial about Cork Airport. I must admit that i don't understand why cork airport is run by the daa.

but i don't subscribe to the theory that the daa wants to 'screw cork airport'. sorry, but when cork flights aren't viable and close down, it's because not enough passengers use the service to make it viable or profitable. I'm not sure why cork expects to have services that simply cannot support.

when cork airport loses a destination, it is regularly blamed on;

-Lack of marketing
-The DAA
-Poor promotion
-Stupid people driving to Dublin
-Simon Coveney
-Some other politician
-The airline
-Parking costs

It is never blamed on

-Fundamental viability issues [insufficient numbers travelling]

Cork people would rather save 60 euro and get the bus to Dublin and fly from there.

Well stocked on destinations to England and Scotland though.

Cork is well served as a feeder airport to large European hubs, like Heathrow, Schipol, and Paris CDG.

These are primary hubs easily accessible from Cork.

Much easier to fly via a primary Hub than drive or get the bus to a secondary airport in Dublin.

Apologies if its already posted but a German crowd are running a poll to decide what destination they will add from berlin in the coming winter.

Cork currently leads five others.

I may have got the name of the airline wrong (was that a re branding post Lubitz?) but I still think it's a great route for Cork. Cologne and Dusseldorf (their other bases) are too close to Amsterdam and don't make a whole lot of sense anyway. Berlin would be a great addition.

Default Cork Airport Election Issue

Would love to spend a nice evening sitting on the hood of my car and watch planes fly in low. Is there a good spot near Will Rogers Airport that would allow me to park my car and watch planes fly overhead?
