Puzzle Muteson is the alter ego of an enigmatic songwriter from the Isle of Wight, who renders his music in a tremulous tenor over a finely spun web of fingerpicked guitar.
Born in London on the Isle of Dogs, the southern English island provided unexpected shelter for the shuddering transformation into one-man band Puzzle Muteson. His grade-school music teacher was first to recognise his unrivaled vibrato, and a little while later a parade of chance and coincidence led him to inhabit Puzzle Muteson, and start shaping a body of songs.
Puzzle has since toured Ireland and the U.K., opening up for the likes of The Fruit Bats, Death Vessel and Sub Pop darling Daniel Martin Moore.
After obsessively listening to Puzzle Muteson’s own raw tapes, producer- arranger duo Valgeir Sigurðsson and Nico Muhly nurtured the songs that now inhabit his debut recording “En Garde”, released via Valgeir’s Bedroom Community label. The record shimmers with the signature value of Puzzle’s collaborators who have previously worked with the likes of Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Antony &the Johnsons, Sam Amidon and many others.

The Driftwood Manor
Formed in 2007, The Driftwood Manor is an Irish folk act taking in a wide range of influences from Irish traditional music to American folk, bluegrass, Eastern music and alternative rock as well as many others. Releases vary from 'song' based folk releases to instrumental and more experimental pieces. The band have released six albums/eps to date since 2008, including the Dominican Black Abbey EP, released July 2012 on Rusted Rail.
Aaron Hurley is a singer and song writer of avant folk and spectral gazing music. In collaboration with Scott McLaughlin, Aaron has recorded music under the name ‘Phantom Dog Beneath the Moon’, releasing ‘The Trees, the sea in a lunar stream’ in 2010 and ‘Through a Forest Only’ in 2007. He also co-founded (alongside James Rider of United Bible Studies and Keith Wallace of Loner Deluxe) the outsider folk outfit Cubs, who released the ‘The Whispering Woods’ in 2011 and the 'Willowfield' E.P. in July 2012.
Loner Deluxe is fond of electrickery. This bedroom experimental/folk/electronica project has released 2 EP's to date for the label - “The Plinth Tapes” and “Must Not Sleep Must Warn Others”. Loner Deluxe leans heavily on frosted melodies and evocative acoustica woven into mellow, meditative and minimalist music veering from gentle tone poems to ethereal folkways and dreamlike sonics. As Road Records have said: ""the sounds are like a blend of Godspeed, Four Tet, glitchy little electronic sound effects, haunting fairground music, Boards of Canada and a kinda strange psyche folk version of My Bloody Valentine."
