If caravans were allowed there's no way everyone bringing one would arrive a day early and leave a day late. The space just isn't there. If we extend the space, we've to extend the number of power units etc. If anything changes I'll update this place, but we just don't have the room for them.
In a new departure for the Indiependence Music & Arts Festival, we're delighted to welcome Love Music Hate Racism (LMHR) to curate a stage at this year's festival!
The initiative kicks off tomorrow night with a fundraiser at Cyprus Avenue (featuring Delorentos, Dead School, The Mandolas, Karma Parking and more) which runs with other fundraising gigs around the country. LMHR will then choose up to 20 bands to play on their stage at INDIE12.
''One of our major aims is to get young people thinking about a diverse Ireland, free of prejudice," says LMHR's Kurt Nikolaisen. "Music is a universal language that has always been used to break down barriers, build relationships and get a message across to the masses.
"We'll be videoing our trip to Indiependence , and using that footage to attract funding and support for our new project 'The Key Of Diversity' - - a national song writing competition that is due to begin at the end of the year. We'll be asking bands across the country to submit original music that addresses a diverse and changing Ireland in a positive way, and rewarding the winning entries with prizes such as festival slots and more.''
Over 100 acts will perform over a packed August Bank Holiday weekend at INDIE12 which already features 2manydjs, British Sea Power, Feeder, Maverick Sabre, The Coronas, Beardyman, LTJ Bukem, Japanese Popstars, Jape, The Frank & Walters, Scroobius Pip and many more . . . .

Thinking of maybe going down for a day this year. Is driving yourself the only option as it looks like you cant camp with day tickets? Presuming no way back to city afterwards.

Depends on the day, if going down the Sunday you can pay an extra tenner and camp.
