Right, on the 2nd attempt I RTFM:

Audio is set to HDMI by default, and since I was using composite i had to set it to analog.
Installed a good few Add Ons including the Engadget show (didn't even know they had a show), and the playback is extremely smooth and looks great at 480p on an old Trinitron.
Apparently there's a 4oD plugin, but I couldnt find it in the addons list.
I think you may need to manually install it:

Okay installing addons manually is easier than i bargained for,
you can install an addon by selecting the zip file in the GUI.

Its probably worth e-mailing them about it.
I've seen a few people on other sites who never got their email also.

I registered early march , didn't get an invite till the end of may won't get the pi until mid to end of July ...
