Default West Coast of France

Heading here at the end of August/start of September.

We will be getting the ferry over so we have the freedom to drive pretty much whereever we want.

Give me recommendations for places to stay on the west Coast please.

Ile de Re looks lovely, anyone been?

Cheers

We head to Ile De Re every year as father is from La Rochelle so we are lucky to have a place to stay every year
It gets very busy in August - full of lovely villages St.Martin, Ars En Re and Le Bois Plage + plenty of others - great easy cycle paths and unspoilt beaches on the southern side of the island and the weather has always been very good. Near to La Rochelle allways worth a visit.

Great seafood and bring / rent bikes.

Nantes is a very nice city well worth visiting for a couple of days.

Yes usually stop there for a night on the way down or back to Roscoff.
Very nice city centre.

La Rochelle is nice, as are Biarritz and Bayonne if you're willing to venture so far south.
