Yeah that's fair enough.
I could go into more depth explaining why wilba said "ASFAIK" but its not worth it!
TK just doesn't want to see these mass produced illegally by some commercial company charging a fortune for them.
The license has been threatened by this a ridiculous amount of times.
I remember posting on here years before I discovered MIDIbox,
going on about how great I thought Sasha's maven controller was.
When i discovered the actual (and dirtier) story behind it years later, that perception changed immediately.
Hope you don't miss her too much!
Although to be fair, I always thought that the SID wouldn't compliment your ambient style.
It's a bit too viscous for what you're trying to do!

haha, yeah a simple saw or sine wave here or there is all i'm about these days!
i've sold all my little diy synths recently. just not the sounds i'm after. i do love building them though. this little box is easily the best sounding of them. and you can play back all the old commodore tunes through it too...
i might regret getting rid of just for the historical aspect of the SID, but i'll lever use it.
have you built any of the midibox stuff jack?
this looks pretty sweet and easy to build...

Yeah man, it's Smithy, you probably forgot the newer username.
I did a really ghetto single sid midibox in a wedge shape cardboard box, and then did the MB-6582.
The MB-6582 could do with a tiny little rework, as there's intermittent noise one of the SIDs,
I had problems with the stiff ribbon cable breaking and had to do quite a bit of desoldering, and resoldering a different type of cable.
So its not perfect I guess.
I kinda put all the messing around with music gear on hold there for a while, but my enthusiasm is coming back lately.
Would love to push the 6582 to the limit, there's only a small % of people that share what they have done with it online.
It's an insanely powerful synth, pretty much 8 fully fledged synths in one.
And the MB-SID software engine is ridiculously just as powerful.

Good man, and yourself?
I remember a user that was on both the PROC and on thumped was mad to get a Midibox a few years back, you're memory might be better than mine today.
Think the same guy mentioned on thumped that he was thinking of buying Monomachine instead, as he wasn't too keen on the soldering.
Only have a vague recollection right now.
