Good little report. Tipp have a class manager. He was tactically brilliant last year too and to add to that, it appears the players will do anything for him. When you look at Cork, maybe that's what we lack.
Tipp have some huge players and some class forwards and play to these players strengths. They put the big men in the key positions and use them to get the ball to the smaller, classier forwards. We in Cork don't use our best players at all. O'Driscoll was a star at centre back last year, but not used there this year. Vaughan should be at centre forward where he can run at players. He's too dependant on good ball coming in, if he's in the corner.
It sounds like we had the winning of this game tonight but kicked ourselves into defeat among other things. Disappointing.
Wouldn't take anything away fron Tipp. They were the better team.

In fairness, unlike the hurling, i'm not sure we could have gotten a coach with better credentials than Fitzgearld for this job. Numerous cork senior titles and got senior intercounty coaching experience last year. He's a good coach.

Looking at both teams, its was plain to see that one was expertly drilled. Cork looked like more individuals. The free taking thing was schoolboy stuff. And we had a much smaller man one on one on quirke who must be 6 foot 5 who was standing on the edge of the square for the whole second half.
Like the Minor hurlers recent defeat to Clare the lack of scores jumps out at you. People might point to the wides and penalty miss and say at least they are creating chances but only 9 points over the hour is poor scoring no matter what way you look at it.
Nemo lost a replay recently but at least they scored 3-20 over 80 minutes. They clearly did a lot of things right.
Very disappointing to be out of the championship so early.
