Yeah, I keep fairly up to date with all browsers (even IE9 ) - I just prefer Chrome. Rendering speed is fairly well matched but Chrome's startup speed is a lot faster.
If you're worried about tracking, use Chromium instead..

Was using Chromium for a while, but after a few re-installs got lazy and forgot to install it.

Firefox seems to launch as fast as chrome for me, but I've no plugins installed in firefox atm on this machine.

Doubt it, it's the very nature of the firefox executable.

Plugins are loading in a different process called plugin-container.exe

Not sure if it's possible.

i use Camino on the mac.
dolphin on the phone
and
qnx browser on the tablet.

but chrome is pretty good (and fast) if you are into all that google stuff.

Yeah, I'd have a few plugins installed all right which could be causing it to waddle.

In fairness though, I'd have similar enough plugins installed in Chrome.

being having problems with chrome freezing and just being sluggish in general, installed Avant instead and i find it much better. its interface takes a bit of getting used to but its fairly decent.
