Rebelgaa is usually better for getting the low down at meetings.
I don't follow that RR. What's the story there? Significance? In real terms?
it changes the whole voting structure. Two ballots per affiliation, as opposed to one at present.
Let me explain it in more detail. At present, there are approx 120 votes at County Board level (give or take a few). Each club had one ballot per affiliation. During the year, it was worked out that between the executive, the divisional reps and other delegates (outside of club delegates) that the executive has a block of 44 votes or thereabouts. Now that in itself may not seem significant, but the fact is, in order to overturn a motion passed, you require a two thirds majority. Now most County board meetings would struggle to get 100 in attendance, 44/120 always gave the executive a comfortable cushion. They could pass a motion the first night (Removing right of County Champions to a selector and the captaincy for example) and know that no matter what, they had enough backing to block the two-thirds required to overturn the decision in subsequent meetings.
Now, the clubs voting strength has effectively been doubled, while the executive and other non-club delegates, still have only one ballot. Two Thirds suddenly became alot easier to achieve.
Suffice to say that all of this is fucking excellent for Cork GAA.
