bang on stevie, this list has 4 all time great teams, minus that Bayern one.
they had beckenabauer muller and a host of the german world cup winning team and also ended cruyff's ajax domination.

as a result of their omission i included the 85 juve team but they certainly weren't a european great. i think they won 3 serie A's in a row but didn't do it in europe. teams winning back to back titles should only be considered

The real team between 55 and 60. Di stefanio, puskas, gento, kopa and more. They taught teams how to play football

Agreed. 3 European Cups in a row is hard to argue with.

Also, although Benfica last won the European Cup in 62, it wasn't really the end of that team. They appeared in 3 of the next 5 finals (even if they lost all of them)

it's true that the bayern munich side of the 70's won 3 cups back to back.but in my opinion, the bayern munich side of the late 90's/early 2000's was better and stronger by far.and that's becouse that team beat the hell out of all the european giants between 98'-2001.they could demolish their opoinents,no matter how strong they were(like against real madrid and manchester united).plus, they were awesome in their league, winning 3 championships back to back.
the 70's side didn't beat very strong sides on the road to win the european cups 3 times between 74'-76'.their opoinents were very average.plus, their league record was'nt good at all.they finished 10th in 75',and were suffering many hard beating like:6-0,7-4,5-0,6-1,4-0,etc...
so I don't think it's a great side.

Steaua Bucharest 1986 no contest. Caucescu and Hagi, what a combo. Bring back the iron curtain!

That Ajax team of '95 - the complete package. Every player in that team was quality - even Paddy Kluivert was good then...

Oh fuck.

I just voted for Bayern of 2001 then. Having that team up there makes a mockery of this whole thread, they weren't a truly great side. Hitzfeld, however, was a truly masterful coach. There is a difference.
