Rachel Grimes at River Lee Hotel, Nov 13th
Pingpong/Triskel Present: Rachel Grimes live at the River Lee Hotel on Saturday Nov 13th
Tickets €12 from Triskel box office from wed 13th Oct
Rachel Grimes is the pianist and central member of the seminal cult band, "Rachels" from Louisville, Kentucky.
With members from the avant rock side (Jason Noble - Rodan/Shipping News) and the classical side (Christain Frederickson/ Rachel Grimes) the Rachels used traditional string, wood and wind intsruments to blend elements of chamber music, medieval, theatre and film score and found sound with quieter, darker elements of modern rock.
Her 2009 released solo work Book of Leaves is a technically brilliant but more importantly, spine-chillingly intimate and beautiful essay of Autumnal pieces.
