Keane walks away from Black Cats - reports
Sunderland manager Roy Keane has reportedly walked away from the club after six defeats in seven games left his position at Stadium of Light in doubt. The Corkman had been in talks with chairman Niall Quinn over the last three days after admitting he was questioning his role at the club after the 4-1 loss at home to Bolton on Saturday.
There has been no comment from the Black Cats today, although the 37-year-old is due to hold his pre-match press conference for Saturday's Barclays Premier League trip to former club Manchester United at 1pm.
Keane was appointed in August 2006 and immediately turned the fortunes of the club around, lifting out of the relegation zone in the Championship and guiding to the Premier League in his first season in charge.
Since then he been given unprecedented financial backing by the Sunderland board with his spending topping £60million.
