It's a very ignorant urban view to say that rural communities losing their GAA club isn't a big deal. Many rural places don't have cinemas or other forms of entertainment other than the pub, so people of all ages get behind their club and every Sunday is a big deal.

I'm not saying the GAA as an organisation are right on this, but you can't dismiss the importance of the local club to their area.

The GAA should take a leaf out of the IRFUs book. They set up the Exiles in the UK which has paid dividends to the national set up. If the GAA put some more money into the UK game they could get a side up thaw would be quite strong
