Bojan Krkic

Spanish guy in the office has been droning on about a Barca youngster called Bojan Krkic for a few months now. I've only ever heard of him from playing FM2007 on the PC but yesterday morning said Spanish guy handed me a CD with some video of Bojan playing for the Barca youth team and Spain U17s. Christ almighty, he's some talent. Spanish guy goes home twice a year and travels from Seville to Barcelona to see him play in the youth team.

Anyone ever heard of/seen him?

Presumably this guy's not from Barcelona? What's the story with them holding on to Messi and this dude and losing locals like Pique and Fabregas?

There should have been war in that club over the latter two being poached.

Spanish guy tells me there were lots of problems with the management of Barca's canterra and Barca B during the late 90s/early 00s, hence Pique and Fabregas being allowed to leave. Don't really know how true this is though.

He's got dual spanish/serbian nationality. Apparently he's been making noises recently about wanting to play for the Serbian senior side. Can't understand why you'd go for Serbia in favour of Spain though.

Wiki tells me he's Catalan born and bred. Father is Serbian, Mother Catalan

Well, because if he's Catalan he probably suffers the same apathy towards turning out for "his" national side much as Darron Gibson does for Northern Ireland.

I keep thinking that separate Spain and Catalonia national sides would do better.

Cant see that, then they would have do the same for Basque, and that would fuck the national Spanish team.

Am, but maybe the Basques and Catalans would quite like the idea of not playing for the Spanish "national" team.

No more than we would like the idea of playing for a British Isles team.

saw him playing some u21 tournament last summer twas on eurosport .. quality player. a step above the rest of the players
