Who is the best Irish Comedian ?.

Over the past 2 years I have at this stage seen most of the Irish comedians, some fantastic and many crap. One man's comedy is another mans depression. So lets see who you believe is the best comic in Ireland, and they dont have to be the big names, they can be the next to be tops so get cracking

Des Bishop and TT are not far behind but are a bit loud for my ears. Doherty is subtle, quirky and picks up on little things. I love his songs.

Dara O Brien is pretty funny but the others you mention are all shite!, I would like to kill Andrew Maxwell

Tommy Tiernan is the best by a mile. Dylan Moran , Ian Coppinger are good also!

The worst is, and this is saying something because the quality of Irish Comedians is reaaly bad, Jason fucking Byrne, that man just isn't funny.

Jesus yeah, completely and utterly useless. I don't think I've ever laughed at one of his jokes.

Dylan Moran is definitely my favourite Irish comedian, going to see him next week as part of the melbourne comedy festival, can't wait!

Well Baazooka your sucking up to karl Spain pretty early o.k. the guy is fantastic, very very funny, damn good looking, brill material, genius on stage ( well what did you expect me to say, I'm M C'ing the same night your supporting, oh yes that would look nice you having drinkies with Spain and me mopping out the toilets, no thank you ) but I would also have to add to the list
1. Jimmy O Dea A legend of the 50's possibly started comedy in Ireland
2. Maureen Potter, the queen of Irish comedy
3. Hal Roche, took on the best America had and out did them
4.Brendan Grace, Bringing Irish comedy to a complete new level
5. Spike Milligan, Showing the English exactly HOW to do comedy
6. Pat Shortt , Carrying on Dermot Morgan's tradition of giving newbies a chance
7. Colin Ryan, for not allowing me to clean out the toilets in Cyprus Ave.

Now the next question who is going to be the next high king of Irish comedy ??

oh definitely has to be mr. john capliss. a bohemian poet of the truths and inadequacies in today's society!

but being utterly honest, it has to be dylan moran. fucking genius. tommy tieran has jumped on the showband wagon. a comedian is not just a stand-up performer but a person who can write and interact with their material. one who does not anchor themselves to the depression of stand up comics and one who can hold a conversationw ithout mentioning themselves in it ie;d** b****p or should i say *es *isho*. that will suffice for now.

Yeah, he was absolutely brilliant last week in melbourne. Definitely the best around at the moment. Very quick as well, taking the piss out of people in the audience and stuff.

Dara O'Briain, he has some amount of thoughts running through his head at any one time!
Neil Delamere is pretty good as well.
Ed Byrne is possibly the most unfunny comedian I have ever seen, don't like Des Bishop either.

If your in to Irish comedians then may I suggest reading Liam Fay's article in the Sunday Times supplement Culture 1st Nov, this guy has it so right. The cream of Irish comedy to day I'm sad to say are sh*t, and RTE is to blame, giving them a free hand (an extremely expensive free hand) to produce crap tv shows. David O Doherty's show was crap with no meaning and giving a spot to that girl from Cobh was pityful, she's not funny. Des Bishops in the hood what the f**k was that about, an American trying to help the under privilaged, more like helping his bank balance, and now he is learning Oirish, "conas a ta you doiing", please give us all a break. All these guys are covered by the true person running comedy in this country "Lisa Richards" agency. This agency should be charged with ruining comedy in this country, it would appeare that they decide who is big and who is not, if your not on there books your not any good. The proof can lie with Pat Shortt, he is h's own guy, not with the Richards agency, his comedy is funny, his stage presence is great, and not like f**king goats like Delamare, Maxwell, Bishop. Over the past 8 months I have gone to nearly every comedy club here in Ireland and I have seen amazing comedians who are far more talented than these godly assholes, but these underodgs will never make it unless their on the tails or kissing ass with these pr**ks. And when these assholes move on the comedy scene here will be dying because we are all sick shit of them. When was the last time your so called city limits gave these underods a night to be famouse, no they prefer to carry on as whipping dogs to the almighty Lisa Richards Agency.
