11 Bookings in the Roma V Lyon Match last night. The referee is a legend! I wonder did he book any of them three times though! Most bookings ever in a UEFA match.
Roma Players Booked:
Mexes 3
Panucci 7
Pizarro 18
Mancini 43
Taddei 57
Totti 82
Tonetto 89
De Rossi 90
Olympique Lyon Players:
Juninho 12
Govou 45
Toulalan 50
A nil nil draw and eleven bookings? Is there a punishment for having 8 players booked in the one game? I know the situation in the premiership, but what about UEFA?

His average is 4 yellow per game in the premiership.
In 16 games this season he has dished out 6 reds (the most for any referee) and 58 yellow.

Yes, hands up on that one too, I was thinking "Nemanja Vidic," and typed "Nimic." The day the wizzard signed him, if I recall correctly. I remember thinking, "build from the back, and the front will take care of itself." Looking at Nimic and Evra now, they were definitely two of the buys of the season last year.
He'll always be Nimic to me.
:)
NB, he should be a future captain, he handled himself magnificently when the Lille players threatened to walk off the other night, he was the only one who was anxious to get on with the game, he showed Gary Neville up.

Out of the current squad he's the best candidate for next captain. Dont think Rooney has the ability to shut his gob at referees which is no good.
agreed on the quality of signings as well. Those 2 guys look decent value now at just over £12m. A sign that Fergie seems to be looking harder through the transfer market.

Its is well known in the soccer circles I run in that Vidic and Ronaldo were poached/scouted Kenyon style from Liverpool. Sometimes it works, as in their case, sometime as in the case of Silvertstre not so well.
Evra was hardly unknown either.
Only Wenger can truly be classed as a man that can spot a player

I've seen Warnock a few times, 10 would be a lot I'd say. If he was in Evra's league would Liverpool have sold him? Also is he always injured or is it just my imagination?

first of all evra has a had a very good season. i wouldn't go blowing my load, claiming he was world class or anything. he had a dodgy start to his spell at utd, and, a few gaffs aside, has played very well.
i was disappointed when benitez sold him. he is a player of amazing commitment, perhaps to his detriment, as he has been plagued by injuries included an almost career ending leg break. he isn't as good on the ball as he should be (as evra is), and his positioning is a little suspect. but, imo he could have really improved if he was given a good run in the team. but unfortunately it wasn't to be for him. maybe benitez feels he's not in the position to be able to 'experiment' with him to see whether he becomes the player he could have, or maybe benitez felt he wasn't quite the quality liverpool need. if that's the case, then yes evra would be considered the better player (as i alluded to above).
but, to claim comparing the two as "just plain stupid" as you said, is off the mark.

This Evra had a dodgy start thing is overhyped by a Man City performance where they bombed goal kicks down on top of him in his 1st game. The guy is small so isn't gonna be a force in aerial challenges against someone like Sinclair & added with Silvestre's awful display that day people questioned Fergie's judgement on him again.
Yes he's had a fine season this year but it isn't a one off. He was on Uefa's team of the year in '04 & I saw enough of him during Monaco's run to the final to be impressed. Going back to this term I'd have him ahead of Vidic with regards to individual awards or the like. Everyone is going on about Vidic this Vidic that but for me I've been more impressed by Evra.
I still think to compare Warnock to him is stupid. You say he isn't as good on the ball as Evra, yet for me the reason Cashley has stood out so much is his ability on the ball & his play going forward. Its the difference between being average and good IMO. If Warnock had the ability to be anywhere near as good as Evra, Liverpool wouldnt have sold him. Time will tell how good both will become but Warnock has'nt had a sniff of a chance with the England squad yet even when Cashley's had injuries so I think for now he's a long way off Evra.

Its grand looking confident with Blackburn but they are'nt Liverpool. Prime example for us United fans is Richardson. He was excellent at West Brom & played a big part in keeping them up, but since he's back at United he's being awful barring one or two cup games in almost 2 years. To use a cliché at the end of the day he's not good enough to play for a top side. The same goes for Warnock. If he was Benitez wouldnt have sold him and played the likes of Aurelio at LB instead.
One thing I will say for Warnock his attitude seems spot on unlike the horrible individual I've compared him to.
