Was half watching today's rugby and one thing I noticed was that, right throughout the game , there was a constant stream of people walking in and out of their seats. Confirms for me that many attending these occassions don't have a great interest in the game itself. Just look at any of the clips that will be shown in news bulletins and highlights and you will see what I mean.
Can you imagine in Croker or Thurles and you bursting to go as John Gardner lined up a free for the winning point. You'd take your chances on getting wet rather than miss the free or risk getting a clatter from those you'd disturb !

In fairness, you can't compare the 2. You miss 3 minutes in a game of hurling, and you could miss loads(remember offaly in 94!). there's far more stop/start in a game of rugby for scrums, line-outs etc.
Obviously its different in a terrace, cos you'll never get your place back, but if you've got a seat, then you can be in and out fairly quickly and not miss much.

There were a lot of Cork "supporters" starting to leave Croke Park with as much as ten minutes to go at the last All-Ireland, mind. This was despite my screaming at them "Why would you leave?"
The wrong people get the tickets for these things a lot of the time, I think. Having said that, I've never seen similar at a Munster Final.

my dad was a big rugby fan and always said twickenham was the worst place to go for games, no atmo, the english being too stuck up to sing properly, etc. he used love going to cardiff arms park, said the singing and atmo there was unbelievable

Apart from any of them that were in labour and had no nurofen and boiling water and sheets to tear up, such people make me sick. I don't know what the sheets are supposed to do, but they seem to be important, especially in old westerns.

That shit gets on my nerves
Thankfully most stadiums i've ever been to don't tolerate that stuff
It's very embarrassing that fuckwits like these get tickets ahead of people who appreciate their respective sports
