A coulpe off weeks ago , I was picking Indy all the way but I just don't see it anymore.

Firstly they're being made strong favourites which is nonsense as ,in reality, there is very liite between them. That favourites tag won't suit them.

Secondly , too many people are writing of Grossmans ability to do it in the superbowl. Which is funny because his opposite number , up to this season has been the king of the chokers and let's face it , besides a couple of good drives against NE , peyton has been pretty much carried through the playoffs by his much maligned defense. As the game approacehes I'm worried for Peyton's ability to remain calm under that very oggd pass rushing defense of Chicago. This is strange cos it's the first time in my life 'll be really shouting for Peyton, which is more to do with

Somebaody mentioned that it'll be interesting to see who will throw more Picks. I think that stat could be the one that decides the game and I fear it'll be Manning

Gettin a bit nervous about it now tho!

Hoping the colts will get it done, but i strongly agree that they shouldnt be such heavy favourites

Still fancy "Rextacy" to throw a few picks tho

Is there any pub in Cork where you'll be able to watch it to the end?

Ah of course i still fancy the Colts to win, what kind of fan wud i be if i started changing my mind eh!

MVP of the Game will prob be Bob Sanders, i can see him catching a good few of Rex's wayword wrist flips that he calls throws.

all i be worried about is whether we can a game of it ya know :D

Dead right about the NFL thread being the best tho, none of the bullshit went on in there that exists in just about every other topin here (ffs mockery etc)

this time 2moro we'll have new champs and by god the minute the Colts win, i'll posting here with so much abuse...........

just saw the first half, the conditions made it tricky, but it looked like a good game.

Very disappointing game in the end. Chicago paid the price for not showing any faith in Grossman. We know he isn't the greatest QB in the world but when you ignore him for pretty much the entire first half then then it's obvious his confidence is gonna be shot and thus he choked when they caleed on him.

The conditions made it tough but the amount of turnovers was still ridiculous and although exciting rpety embarrassing for 2 Superbowl teams.

As for MVP , did anyone else think that that Addai and Rhodes were robbed. I know Manning is the golden boy and his numbers were decent, but Indy won the game by running the ball. This was surely a perfect opportunity to give a double MVP which has happened before. I somehow feel that Manning was picked for sheer histrionic value

Well, it worked out pretty much exactly the opposite of what I would have thought. I didn't fancy the Colts line to stand up to the bears front 4, and I thought that the Bears line would be able to move the Colts out of the way. The Colts fronted up on both sides though and pressured Grossman and protected Manning superbly. They gave him plenty of time to throw those short passes. Linemen have to recognise a screen is coming in order to get in position to defend it, but they were so tied up because of being knocked backwards by the offensive line that they were never able to make a play and it was the linebackers having to step up all the time to make the tackles, but not before 6-10 yards had been gained. Super blocking and super running after the catch. Manning was given MVP, which frankly was a travesty in a game that was won purely on physical force. I think its entirely unfair to award an MVP to a quaterback who only threw one long pass in the whole game, and that to Wayne when the Bears coverage broke down. Manning did what was required. The Bears decided they were going to drop deep and see if someone else could beat them, and the other Colts stepped up.

As for Grossman, if you look at his passing stats, he wasn't all that much worse than Manning. 20/28, a better completion percentage than Manning, 1 touchdown pass each and 2 picks for Grossman to 1 for Manning. The two fumbled snaps though killed the Bears. Absolutely killed them. They were concentration errors that Manning would never make, and the timing for both could not have been worse. Manning is a far superior player to Grossman, but on the night the difference was the two bad snaps and the Colts ability to run the ball.

I had Colts by 13 to 18 so why the fuck didn't they go for the fieldgoal in the last minute when it was 4th and 20... WANKERS

Oh baby, what a bender! Needless to say, but after 14 seconds i could see the headlines of "Colts blow it again". Apparently Vineteri messed up the kick and it was never supposed to go that far!

Knew the Colts had it in the bag at half time tho, their offense was unstoppable, whilst the Bears was extremely one dimesional, leaving Grossman cold on a number of early plays.

Addai was definately MVP but when u think about it, Colts offence IS Peytons offense so i think thats why he got it. Also, Dungy effectively sat out Addai for the last quarter and a half which was detremental to his chances and Rhodes simply didnt have enough touches to win MVP.

COLTS WIN COLTS WIN

Well why not just give it to Dungy so.? Sure it's his team. I thought it was a cop out by the media to be honest. Lets face it, Manning was the big story and by giving him MVP , they've made it a bigger story. I think it's ridiculous .

By the way congrats on the win Sixes

Cheers Forsberg. Like i said, Addai was definately the MVP but all im saying is, Manning isint a BAD choice by any means. He was probably our 3rd best player. It was a bit of a cop out and basically i think he got it cause of the fact that the media always labelled him a choke artist.

Felt sorry for Addai tho.
Bob Sanders, Domnic RHodes, Jeff Saturday, Tarik Glenn and Marvin Harrison all had huge games as well.

As I said in an earlier post , there was no reason why Rhodes and Addai couldn't have shared it. It happened before. As well as that ,I didn't like Mannings reaction to the news that he got MVP . He gave a knowing nod as if he knew he was getting it. I'm back to hating hin now

haha! Everyone hates Peyton. Didnt know u could sahre the MVP but fair enough.

His reaction wasnt the greatest but lets face it, it doesnt mean a whole lot. He gets another Crysler in his garage i guess.

Just wait till next yr when he's back throwing 158 games against the Broncos, then you'll hate him even more!
