How can a fermanagh man (Rory Gallagher) play for Cavan having already played for Fermanagh.
How can a Roscommoon man (Frankie Dolan) play for Westmeath having already played for Roscommon.
Is there something amiss.
Did Larry Tompkins do this?

I think Larry played for Kildare. Shea Fahy was also 'imported'.
From the hurling side of the county Mark Mullins was form Carlow I think.

Larry and Shay both played for Kildare.
Is it only allowed if you are playing for a club in the county.
They both played with Castlehaven at the time that they turned out for Cork I believe.

How can you legally, or how can you morally?

Larry Tompkins was born in Wexford played for Kildare and moved to Cork for Work, tis a fair old trek to make it up and down to Kildare back then so he joined up with the Haven and played with Cork.. Shay Fahey was also a Kildare man who played with NEMO...
How can you legally, or how can you morally?if you are living and working 150 miles away it makes sense

Legally? I don't think the law cares.
GAA rules state that if a player hasn't represented his county for a certain period of time then he can switch counties.
It may or may not be 18 months.

AFAIK the player should be playing in the county he wants to represent if he is to switch.. ie Kieren McGeeney and Kevin O Neill for example could play for the Dubs if the Mayo & Armagh county boards backed it, which I doubt would happen...
