Yeah, I'm a triathlete......have n't done a full ironman yet, but have done a hard 1/2 ironman. Have only 2 full seasons of racing behind me, so still learning, but results are improving all the time thankfully!

I'm a man of many talents so I am, world class fighter and soccer player, triathlete and master decorator in my spare time.

hehe.....that's "The Longest Day" race isn't it........have you done many triathlons before?.....it'd probably be wise to have 2/3 years of olympic distance races behind you before attempting an ironman....it's a gruelling gruelling race.....best of luck with it, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it if you're new to the sport........i'm not even going to think about it for another 2/3 years

thats the one. i dont know why every one sweats it.
i only want to complete it, not race it. so my plan is to piss the swim and the bike, so i will have enough time to walk the marathon {or crawl if i have too}. my mate is an army ranger who did it twice and he recons this is a good strat. he will be doing same with me.

Good luck! Keep us posted with your preparations for it! I love reading that stuff, and thinking, well someday, if I train hard enough, and really put the effort into it, I could, myself... Ah I can't even finish that sentence! lol I am fascinated by endurance sport, and multi-sport events though, even if I am not that sporty myself.

Are you starting to train specifically for the ironman as of now?

yes, but i have a very good swim/run base as standard. the road/tri bike will be the only new thing for me,but i have exceptionally strong legs{if i do say so myself} and with 6 months to train with 1 month for injury id say im all right.

i have stared to train all ready.
i am doing 3 week blocks, with 1 week off.

the main thing for me is not to get carried away, and slowly ramp the millage.
plenty of glucosaime sulphate and flax seed oil for the knees, and off i go.

i train the 5 days , but train cute.
long run one morning, short cycle the next.long swim, short run.i never train the weekend as sat nights are for drinking. sundays for beeing hungover.
weights 3 nights a week, mon wed fri. basic powerlifting work outs , lasting no more than an hour.

i must point out that i am able to do this as i am taking a year off work.

all work and no play makes jack a prick.
