Along similar lines to one that was run last year which Fitzy opted out of.

Oooh, that's a toughie, it really is. Ideally, I'd like to see a Cork double AND a RWC+HEC win.
The problem is, I was in Cardiff last May and Croke park for the hurling in 1990 (my first time there) so I've seen a Cork double and Munster winning the HEC but not Ireland winning a grand slam or a world cup.
Making the assumption that Kilkenny don't win the hurling then I'll have to go with Ireland for the RWC. It's a semantic descision however and frankly means very little but hey, it's Friday.
Can I have some pepper sauce to go with that steak since I'm after taking a big bite?

I've had two years of Premiership wins now, so I won't be greedy on that.
I just can't find myself giving two shits about football. Hurling grand, but football has done nothing for me.
So, given there's a world cup for Ireland in it, I'll have to go there.

All ireland double without question, It's nearly impossible to do though in this day of the back door, side door and trap door, but given the real progress being made by the footballers over the past 18 months, and the fact the hurlers are pretty much a cert to be in the 1/4 final at least, then perhaps this is the one year it may be attainable.

Ireland winning a WC all the way.
even though it won't happen i'd love to see the pool win the prem considering the have been starved of league success for an age. i would love to see ireland win the wrc but because i'm not a huge rugby fan i'd have to go for the pool to win the prem.

Well I've gone for the rugby. We have done doubles and will probably do one again, hard though it is (Hey we're Cork ffs) World Cup for our country would just be something else. With each passing year the Prem does less and less for me.

Tough one alright Lamps but I've gone for Liverpool to win the Premiership ahead of the rugby double.
Probably because it's most unlikely.
Pretty astounded at the number who have voted for premiership teams. Can't get my head around it at all. Each to their own and all that but its bizzare.

I'd love to see cork do the double again, to put an end to all the the nonsense spouted last year by the likes of Eamon Sweeney about Kilkenny being the purists and Cork's 'scientific' approach.
I'd also like to see the footballers stand up to Kerry's physical intimidation.
the hurlers are playing a trial game down the Mardyke on Sunday afternoon, might go for a look-see. Paudie O' Sullivan is starting I believe, although it's a completely experimental side.

Could be a real talent. Stocky and fast as fuck. He was brilliant in the county fine. Real buzz anytime the ball came bear him.
where's the Ireland to win the cricket world cup option?
..you may as well ask what's your favorite sport. ...rugby, GAA, football.

i'm not from cork, and i don't follow gaa, so i couldn't give a fiddlers about cork doing the double. i'll sacrifice ireland winning the world cup, just so as munster don't win it again. so that only leaves one answer.

I prefer football to gaelic games ....I get more enjoyment from it.
I don't see the point in putting my vote for regional pride reasons above sporting enjoyment reasons.
..and I have no interest in rugby and will barely watch the world cup.

So you would rather see an English team win an English competition than Ireland win a world cup in one of it's biggest international sporting interests?

I think he has a valid point Sound. He's not into rugby which is fair enough. Would you prefer Ireland to win the Equestrian World Cup if you had no interest in it ahead of your English team winning the Premiership?

Rugby is well below soccer and two GAA codes for participation etc but equestrianism is vastly below all of these and, IMO, would not make as big an impact as a rugby RWC win.

His point is still valid though. It doesn't matter about how many play a game or watch it. If he's not into it then he will have no affinity to it.

Well it's unlikely that if Irish show-jumpers or what have you wining a world event (though goo luck to them all the same) is going to send hordes of kiddies out there looking for horses but a rugby win? Well, a bit of pumped leather is a damn sight cheaper than black bloody beauty.
Whats interesting is that GAA is supposed to be the No.1 supported organisation in this country yet the poll is telling a very different story. Odd.

This is not about Rugby v GAA.
This is not about Rugby v GAA.
I'm completely aware of that.
All I'm saying is that you would expect a correlation between the poll and the actual level of support for the 3 sports polled. No interest in one of those hurling is better than soccer rants.

Well there are a number of confounding factors. Cork have won 2 of the last three All-Irelands, not everyone on here is from Cork and we have never won the RWC and our last Grand Slam was won when Jesus was a boy. Furthermore, there are plenty people who support numerous codes (such as myself) for whome the decision was purely techinical and doesn't mean a whole heap. Do I want Cork to win a double this year? You bet. I also want Irish rugby to start delivering on its potential though.

Fair enough.
Whilst following all codes to varying degrees as well, my decision to want to see Cork do the double would be based on a number of facts. The main one being that I would be at most of the games and would therefore get more from the whole experience. Would love to see Ireland win the World cup and as long as Chelsea don't win I'm not bothered.
The poll still doesn't correlate to what I would have expected, thats all.

I don't really give to much of a fuck about rugby though obviously i hope Ireland do well
It won't bother me if they don't that much and i won't celebrate if they win
A bit like Munster this year-fair play and all that but it didn't change my life
I'm delighted for them though they deserved it
I'd have a lot more time for gaelic games and hope Cork do as well as possible in both but ultimately, football (soccer) is my interest and that's what i give most of a fuck about
I'd also take Man United winning the league ahead of Ireland winning the World Cup in soccer, but i might be a bit of an exteme case:)

I dislike rugby but I was almost tempted to vote for it as Ireland winning a World Cup in anything would be great for the country and the more far sighted Little Irelanders might even stop and consider that it would be great for North-South relations as well.

It isn't about your favourite sport. Obviously I'd like to see all three. I'd rank Liverpool winning the prem a distant third even though they haven't won in 17 yrs.
I voted for the rugby option only because I think it may be they'll never have a slight (and it is still slight) chance to do it again. The crop of players we have is astounding given the size of the playing pool.
I think Cork will have more of a chance of winning the double again by far. Hopefully again and again.

The context is all wrong
It is smalltime and pathetic that someone waged a massive campaign last year, to get personal with someone and to try and trap them, while blackening his name with this agenda
I gave you the benefit of the doubt at the time, and left it lie, but bringing it up again, was bad form
I asked you to remove it, but you refused
I've answered your questions head on to the best of my ability, but unless something changes asap, I won't be able to deal with you
There are certain boundaries i reckon, and i can take the name-calling and the banter, but sometimes, you go too far
As you will admit, i'm not one to be getting offended for the sake of it:)
