How do i get rid of a car? It's an old car, is it possible to just get it towed away into the sunlight?
Also, what are the signs of a bad/broken alternator, does anyone know?

Turn on your lights and rev the engine.

They should get slightly brighter as you rev.

Getting rid of an old car?
Give it to a scrap yard.

battery i think(!) keeps going, even though radio and lights are working. When i get a jump it drives away. i think the alternator is screwed. Other than that it's fine.

Citroen ZX Reflex 92 C, unfortunately i'm in Dublin, and as i can't get it started, do scrap yards provide a tow?

If it drives away fine with lights etc after a push start it's more than likely starter motor or something. If alternator was completely fucked it wouldnt stay driving with lights on( happened to me recently).

Alternator is relatively easy to fix. Get a 2nd hand one from a scrappy, couple of bolts, belt off and you're pretty much done! Took me 45 mins to do it on my old car and i'm not very mechanically minded
