Uffie's got great production (from Feadz and Oizo), but her rapping is shite. A good looker though.

I think her album is out after Justice's (which is due in April).

Another Uffie track: http://www.snook11.com/emc/wp-content/uploads/2006/08/Uffie_Hot_Chick.mp3

she's waaay less hot in reality than she is in her photos... and she's not very talented either...

I was at a gig of hers in montreal and afterwards she went into the foyer for an impromptu session with the DJ's who were playing there... a bunch of french guys playing crazy glitchy oizo-esque party music... anyway she grabs the mic and what does she do?.. 'ready to uff' of course... you'd think she'd have something else to show the crowd, especially when the music was amazing, but no... she's a one trick pony... I don't see her having a huge impact really... but then again, who knows?... the stuff she has come out with so far has been remixed all over the place...

Modeselektor will blow up to an even bigger degree with an album coming out.

Its one of those ones that the Mercury Music award or the Guardian may cling to.

mr dobalina, mr bob dobalina.

marty whelan's gonna be huge.

i can see house and techno getting even closer to each other. I can see
2c-b getting popular. I can see electro house being in the charts, all over the place, with the usual suspects using it to sell the usual bland shite. Same with more faux-minimal stuff appearing in the commercial realm, and i can see another explosion of popularity of "dance" music, like back in 98-99.

and i can see an implosion of the harder stuff, in cork, for a while.

hey, dont beat up on eric prydz- he's capable of making good tunes.

cirez d- "the mouseville theme" is ridiculously complex, and nasty, and i was impressed by it, i have to admit.

jesus man i didnt say you had a bad taste just that you have a different taste. you can rule out an artist completely cause he/she has had a track or 2 you dont like.. eric prydz commercial stuff is pretty crap and boring. was listening to his more underground stuff on beatport and it was pretty savage

thats true i think, not like coxyy tech house but stuff like aaron carl's "tears".
actually why isnt he huge? He's got soul, funk and all that but still isnt huge. I dont get it. maybe this "hands up for detroit" bollox (heard it the other day - its the new satisfaction) will cause mainstream folk to take a look at the real detroit music scene. probably not hough. in fact that was just dremin wasnt it.

in 2007 it'll all just become more and more blurred, italo-oldskool-uber discohouse will merge with czech minimal tech-trance to make something else. i love techno will complete its current transition to i love electo-tech. hopefully it will split so that i love techno will revert back to nothin but techno.

the klaxons will die in a plane crash

ulterior will be huge i hope

i think its safe to say that as time passes over the next few years its all gonna deteriorate pretty much. the good stuff will remain underground, but as its all comng to an end apathy is subtely taking over. the free spirit of people like atkins and may who had no boundaries isnt relevant anymore cause its all borrowed time. no one will remember it in 50 years cause no one will be here. so whats the point in creating something worthwhlie? just churn out another fashionable "alternative" hit. get paid or die tryin. the lack of courage due to peoples fear is reflected in the music. and it spirals downwards and inwards and nothing makes any sense so people stare at a computer screens voicing opinions, interpreting opnions tryin to undestand the music. dead men walking.

it was a rhetorical question. relating the sense of apathy. the fact that were on borrowed time makes it more important to create someting artistically credible (like that ableton thing you did). but a lot of people dont think this is so, hense the get rich or die tryin quote. opium of the masses etc. i'd love to get into the psychological/philosophical and spiritual/religious side of all this but i just dont have the time right now. plus i doubt anyone is that interested. although drew, i do think one day detroit will get the recognition it deserves. imagine a day when the names of the belleville three will be as well know as Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael.

thats why as copperknob said italo finally got the just rewards it deserved. cunts like prydz and le grande will not be remembered cause they did nothing. Delboy May, Smackins and the like changed the way music sounded from before them, and they like detroit will have its place in history forever. god isnt this profound. im off to look at some granny faecesporn.

its a bit cynical i guess. trust me only for gettin with the lac last year (shes all spiritual and that) i'd be the new nietchze (i know thats not spelt right.) but there is good too. there'll be a resurge in religion, people will become nicer once they know they've got fuck all but their souls(if such a thing exists). this will all be reflected in the music. i suppose thats what its like now though. but one thing good that will come from global instability will be more intense passionate music, as well as the apathetic bollox i was talkin about.
