well what do you reckon?

IMO im not for it, i dont know about the players but i would not fancy playing in 30c+ heat, and will this mean that the world cup and european cup will be playerd over winter?

and fewer teams for world cup qualifying, wtf? we will never get in the world cup again!

this guy is gone senile. half the time he talks about making the world cup every two years and then he goes on about making it so less teams qualify.

The sooner he chokes on a toblerone the better it will be for football.

yeah he's a bit of a nutter. does anybody take him seriously anymore?

i'm totally opposed to summer leagues. it's ok for ireland because it means the players are match fit for the european games, and we have the premiership to keep us ticking over throughout the rest of the year.

but the year would really drag if all footy was in the summer. i look forward to the hectic christmas period when the whole league can change.

He said nothing about fewer teams for World Cup qualifying.

And to further ease fixture congestion, Blatter believes there should be more European groups with fewer teams for World Cup qualifying.

sounds good in theory but in practice it simply wouldn't work. When exactly would the world cup get played? Also the heat is the major factor. I was once in Madrid durin August. It hit 52 celsius one day and at night it only dropped to 38. Places like Rome would be as bad. Anyway, attendances in the likes of the premiership would plummet during the summer months when ppl would be heading abroad on holidays.
