Tough to call given what different teams have to play for. i was so close to putting Werder Bremen down for the draw they need. They are flying in Germany and I think they could steal a draw with Barcelona under pressure. I couldn't bring myself to bet against the defending champions at home though. I also wanted to put Real Madrid as my lock to win away because it's good value but I decided not to because (1) it's in the Ukraine and (2) it's Real "fucking" Madrid and backing them or Inter as a banker regardless of who they are playing is suicide.

some really tricky ones to call,bremen will give barca a good 90 mins i reckon but still see barca progressing,bayern should make home advantage count,god only knows what team rafa puts out in istanbul but gala are a shadow of their former selves and dont think theres ever been a better chance of recording a "win" on turkish soil as tonight,would have thought roma valencia would have been a tough one to call but kike rang me this morning to inform me he was going to be without nando,villa,miguel and del horno as well as ayala whos injured.

as for wednesday,united should have enough for benfica at OT,think celtic should end their away day blues in CL with a win in copenhagen who are a really poor side (expect to be proven wrong!:p ).only one im not sure is the arse at porto could go either way.

I got 2/8 ...Chelsea which paid nothing, but Spartak which was the best winning odds tonight at 9/2.

I lost about $7, ...my cup opponent (UFTB) won about $8 to half the gap to about $17 from $32. my Milan lock tomorrow is vital.

Our tie of the night was Olympiakos - Shakhtar, I had Shakhtar at 5/2, 'Ba had the draw locked at 5/2, ...the Olympiakos 2nd half equaliser was worth about a $45 swing in his favour!

Disappointed that I got lazy with my research this week, never realised Valencia were suffering an injury crisis. Pool - Gala was always going to be tough to call, but I would never have gone for a Gala win. Bordeaux caught us all out.

The self proclaimed People's Champion Ho Chi schooled us all again. He called the Bayern Draw the Olympiakos Draw and most impressively the Spartak Moscow win in Portugal!!! Those 3 alone blew everyone else out of the water. He won $31.66 for the Day. Shammy Feen was next winning $16.51. Other than that only Elwood, Me, Up for the Ba (locked the Olympiakos Draw to win $23.00!!) and a Feen Called Dan broke even.
Sound and Dotty both lost $20+ while Mon The Hoops and Homer Jay went even further getting only 2 correct and losing $27.84. Xvis got only 2 out of 8 aswell but he called Spartak away to win $22.50 on just one game. I think he finished on -$7.00 or so. Finally other top players RebelRed and Forsberg lost $20+ and $17+ respectively seemingly devastating both their chances of challenging Ho Chi at the top. It would appear that even though he missed 8 games last week he's still gonna be winning comfortably come the end of this week. Impressive!!

Those 3 alone blew everyone else out of the water. He won $31.66 for the Day. Shammy Feen was next winning $16.51. Other than that only Elwood, Me, Up for the Ba (locked the Olympiakos Draw to win $23.00!!) and a Feen Called Dan broke even.

Even with his particpation fine he's still on $280.91 ($306.45 gross) where as you have dropped to $250ish and Forsberg to $240ish. Ho Chi has established a Chelsea 05-06esque lead and it seems that none of us is up to the challenge. I feel like I've been doing pretty well lately considering how hard the betting has been but I was $67.65 back of Ho Chi after the first matchday and when he doesn't slip up there is no chance. The increased betting amounts in the Round of 16 and the variable amounts per game I plan to allow people to bet after that might have an affect on him but I guess we'll have to wait and see. I saw the table at one point and thought it was a mistake to be honest that he was so far ahead. That sucks that it was over before it began. I guess we could have had a problem with that had someone nailed a lock on a Levski Sofia or equivalent beating a Barca/Chelsea or equivalent. That would have still been only about $70 or $80 bucks though which isn't too huge in the scheme of things.
Ho Chi is top deservedly and hasn't really had any one lucky pick. Every week when the average is 4 or 5 correct he gets 5 or6. He always seems to have at least 1 result that 90% of the rest of us missed like the Sporting one last night. Had he not nailed that he'd have had a $6.00 night and not a$32.00 one. He called it though, as did Xvis and they benefited massively as a result.

..I'm nervously hanging on in the cup tie after a big first week lead.
It's a good format.

The first week of the cup is the first time I looked at the odds in this thing rather than trying to get as many correct as possible ....which gave the strange situation where I got 6/16 correct to UpForTheBa's 7/16 and yet I had a first week lead of $32. (granted my lock won, his didn't). Similarly, of the results yesterday, I would have chosen Roma under the old format, but thought the odds were poor, 2/1 on.
