thats liverpools hope of a trophy this season after taking a major blow.
personally i think the fa cup should be seeded.
I agree with ya about the seeding but it could easily be argued that it's also a big blow for Arsenal's hopes of winning a trophy too

I disagree completely.
Seeding aids the big teams.
In fact, I'd prefer if all competitions were drawn the way the FA Cup is.

i think the FA cup has become too predicable as it is. Since Everton in 95 no team outside of the gunners, pool, united and chelsea have won the cup. and to be fair only west ham of the runners up in the past 10 years can claim to have come close to upsetting that apple cart. compare that with the 10 years previous to that where you had united, gunners, pool, tottenham, wimbledon, coventry and when sheffield wednesday, crystal palace, and everton (although then by no means a smaller club) all had to be beaten rather than rolling over. it gives a good insight into just how powerful the bigger clubs have become.
Seeding the draw will only make it even more difficult for the smaller teams to make the leap.
I'd be more in favour of the big teams having to play with fly keepers and ten men.

I disagree. look at the giant killings over the last 20 years. they have been nearly always in pokey shit holes in stormy conditions. I think jose recently said they should do it with the carling cup. I personally feel that if every small team had a chance at the big boys, a few of the big boys would be knocked out, the small guys would get enough money to pay their way for another year and the competition would be alot more interesting.
ah, i see. you're taking the tact that having seeding will ensure money and chances of upsets for the smaller teams as opposed to safeguarding the top teams against drawing each other as liverpool and arsenal just did?
Cool, i was taking the oppposite angle - in that the top clubs don't need any more protection.
Good point.
