Top of the list, take the waters.
Id recommened the szechenyi baths, bring a swimming hat.
the language barrier is a bit of a pain, most restaraunt staff will have english.
i became fluent in pointing. the currency is hard to get used to aswell.
cool city, amazing place.
other stuff to do is:
Parliament building
Margaret island nice walks and cycling (bit cold now though)
buda castle
fishermans bastion
terror museum
st peters basilica is worth a look
as is heroes square nd the city park(3 museums here too.
gellert hill and park is lovely but tiring, views are savage.
the buda castle labyrinth is quite interesting too.
get the funicular up the hill by the chain bridge
learn to use the trams, easiest way to get around once you get to know them. the metro is quite limited and the ticketing system is a bitch.
get a budapest card 22 euro. valid on all transport, i never got stopped on the public transport and checked but they are suposed to be cunts if you are not validated.
be careful on tram no 4 and 6
try and get a city spy map, nice and tidy, has landmarks, transport and pubs etc on it.
Old mans pub is quite good, check it out. check tripadvisor. too many scams operating in budapest. be aware of them before you head over
ill post more as i remember it
