there is nothing cheap about any of the flights to Manchester from Dublin over the next few weekends, was hoping to get out there for a night on the cheap..
Any reasonable/realistic options othe then the following that I am overlooking?
Fly - A. Fungus, Ryanair, BMI, Luxair, BM, Gohop...
Sail - Stena, Irish Ferries...

Ryanair to Liverpool or Leeds and overland.
That's about it unless you fancy a trip via Belfast.

There really is very little in the way of cheap travel to manchester, ive tried numerous things to get to soccer matches. only thing is to fly at funny times to get cheaper flights. I chose to take the car on the ferry these days cos there would be a few of us travelling so it works out cheaper. Only thing is ferry travel could be dodgy with the weather this time of year, cancellations and all that. sorry fella.

Ya, if you can get to Liverpool cheapish, then thats a good idea. No hassle to get to manchester by bus or train. Only a short trip.

all additions apprecuited to date.
Big IF there.
Nothing cheap to get over the england at all, youd have thought they would nearly pay us to visit them.
Maybe Ill save up and go to the Mainland instead, or Latin America.
Ah well, I tried to visit.
I never checked the bus over , did the job when I was 17-20, bar all the puke and the stench of booze.. And that was just me.

the ferry is a pain in the hole, dont do it.
Liverpool or leeds bradfors are quite close. even birmingham isnt too far away by train if you were deperate.

Use that.
Set it up properly:
http://www.skyscanner.net/gbp/flights/ie/man/november-2006/december-2006/cheapest-flights-to-manchester-from-ireland-in-november-2006-and-december-2006.html
And you'll find that there's ryanair flights from Shannon to Manchester on the weekend of the 15th for £17 return including taxes, which about €25.
Cheap enough for ya?
Only problem is getting back from shannon at 11pm. There's no buses running from Shannon that late at night to Cork.

He's looking to get a direct flight for cheap between Manchester and Dublin.
Bit specific, dontcha think?
Anyway, here's pretty much all the flights on that route over the 15th of December, which looks the best value:
http://www.skyscanner.net/gbp/flights/dub/man/061215/061217/airfares-to-manchester-from-dublin-in-december-2006-and-december-2006.html
Leave at 06.30am from Dublin and you can do it for just over 60 yoyo. Otherwise, can get the later flight at 18.10 and it's €80.
Otherwise, get yourself up and down from Shannon.
