Anyone got any suggestions?
Other than I want it the be a flight of under 3 hours and not a tourist mare type place. I did think about Barcelona, but someone said to me it's not one for the single person. Been to Prague and Amsterdam already this year.
I have a wedge of Euro, so somewhere in the Eurozone would be cool.
Am only thinking long weekend, not a major trek.... that'll be next year.

millions of suggestions fella - what you looking for? culture? party? history?
any city you care to mention will give you something. I've seen most of Europe at this stage and at a very high level i'd tend to say the further east you go the more interesting.
you might want to narrow the scope a little to get the best suggestions....
where can you get to from wherever you are?

What did you think of Prague? Heading myself soon, only heard good things about the place, except for drunken English stags at the weekend

Athens.
Assuming there's a direct flight from Manchester, it's probably just about the 3 hour mark.
Loads to see there. It's fairly cheap too. Be aware that a lot of the more up-market nightlife is in Piraeus, but that's at the end of one of the Metro lines.
If it gives you culture overdose, Aegina for a more Greek Islands style experience is only 45 minutes by ferry from Piraeus. It could be quiet at this time of year.
Best time to visit is March-May or September-October when the weather is good, but not punishingly hot.

Zurich is nice in the run up to Christmas. You'd have to change your Euros though.

Munich is a nice auld spot to pitch up in for a weekend. As is Berlin. Dunno about lone travelling in Germany though.
As is Budapest.
Oh and Rome.

yeah, barca has cropped here a bit - i'd put my weight behind that.
If you're not looking for a big party scene i can't recommend Vienna enough.
Munich is a good middle of the road spot.
