Please excuse the bearla but my Irish is embarrasingly bad. I intend to do something about it someday, time is a problem.......

Go raibh maith agat, Docaoimh!

Could you or some-one else possibly suggest a nice Christmas greeting for the Freakscene Christmas CD artwork.
Something along the lines of Happy Christmas to all you blagards would have been cool, Happy Christmas to all you bloggers would have been mortifying, so thanks again!. I'm looking for something festive but perhaps a little different.

beannachtaí 's sonas um nollag chuig aithinn deatháir san t-oll daon-phoblacht.

Tá roinnt botúin agat ansin, Darragh.

Aithinn? B'fhéidir 'achan' a bhí i gceist agat. 'gach' 'chuile'?

deatháir - deartháir. Ach sílim gur fearr 'bráthair' so chomhthéacs seo.

'san olldaonphoblacht'

That wouldn't come across very well, even if you found a suitable translation for blackguard.

Have we a word for "villian" used in a jokey sense? Line "chancers" or something.

Táim ag smaoineamh ar "bithiúnaigh" ach b'fhéidir nár cheart é.

You can't really go wrong with "beannachtaí na Nollag oraibh go léir" but prolly a bit too vanilla for your liking.

Gliogaire? Leisceoir? Leadaí? Strácálaí? Leibide?

Isn't the Irish 'Bligeard' the exact equivalent of the Hiberno-English 'Blagard'.

"Happy Christmas to all you blagards"

=

"Nollaig Shona dhaoibh a bhligearda go léir"

Focal ar iasacht, an ea? An bhfuil tú ag bligeardáil liom?

Tugadh 'na scabhaitéirí seo' ar 'these blackguards' (blagards) ar Aifric, an tseachtain seo. Dá bhrí sin, Nollaig shona dhaoibh a scabhaitéirí, b'fhéidir..
