Im off to Olso on friday for a cheeky weekend away with the oul doll and some mates, we got flights for £40 from Liverpool and a cheap rate on a city centre hotel. Just wondering if anyone's been up that way and what there is to do. We're there from fri - sun night. ;)

Oslo is a lovely city but very expensive for food and drink.
€10 for a big mac meal at McD's!!!!
€7 a pint!

I hope your not flying in to Oslo Torp airport though...its a 3 hour bus journey from the city...I shit you not!

Go see the various museums around the city, well worth a look.
Kon Tiki Museum, Folklore Museum, and the Munch Museum where "The Scream" is housed are all woth a look as is the Fram museum where Amundsens ship he took to the antartic is housed.

Dont do night clubs so cant help you in that regard.

Go up and see theolypic ski jump and the skiiing resort where all the family ski and toboggan...its funny seeing 5 year old smallies flying down the slopes!

Hope that helps.

Cheers fella, Yeah we are heading into torp, was aware of the shitty connection though. Cant really argue with a £40 flight though. Sounds pretty feckin expensive though. The oul doll has found £24 city pass things that will get us into various places. Thanks for all the info though, at those booze prices I dont think we'll be out clubbin much.

Haven't been to Oslo, but Norway really is staggeringly expensive

E4.50 for a coffee

Main courses don't come inder E20

On the plus side, it's one of the most beautiful countries anywhere along the coast. Hopefully, Oslo can justify the price too.

I've been a few times, Shammys mentioned most of the good stuff.
The Munch museum is very good, The Scream was stolen from there a few months after I'd been, but there are a few different versions around, another one is in the National gallery.

Also worth checking out is the Vigeland sculpure park. It's a bit crazy, ..the guy lived in the park full time and spent his life doing all these sculptures.
It's brilliant
Also have some elk whilst eating out, ..very tasty.
