go to see the Mall of Emirates http://www.malloftheemirate s.com/skiDubai.asp
They have a indoor ski slope and the mall is HUGE! We got lost there
You should see the Burj al Arab, but you have to pay to go into it. Think
about £50 sterling and you can only walk around the reception area.
When are you going?
Not sure about accommodation as we stayed on the Jumeriah Beach but you may get some reasonable accommodation in the city.

I would remcommend to stay somewhere in the Jemeriah beach area too. I stayed in the Hilton. Now that is very expensive as it is a 5*. Work were paying but it is near most of the facilities and nowhere near traffic.
I don't know what your budget is so I can't recommend anything to you but if it is a hotel and a low budget then you should go for a 3*. There are plenty of them in Jumeriah.
the beach is beautiful and the water is like a bath. Dont get a camel ride, they are rip off.

Go see the zoo. It's small and hot but it costs a euro. Get taxis everywhere. they are relatively cheap compared to Ireland but expensive to them.
Go see the Irish village for a few pints and try and get a trip to the desert in a 4 x 4. I didn't do this but it's meant to be awsome.Expensive too though.
YOu will be there for Ramadan too. I am in Saudi at the moment and everything here is closed for the day. So I can't food, water etc. This is a far more strict country than the UAE so I dunno what the way it will be there. Just remeber you will not be allowed eat, drink or smoke ANYWHERE in public. YOu could be arrested for it so be careful but as I said I dunno what it is like over. It probably wont be like here though.
If you have any other q's PM me and I'd be more than happy to help, if not you'll have an unbelieveable time, you may not want to come back. I know I didn't

K947,
It depends on where you're going. I am in Riyadh. To be blatantly honest I wouldn't recommend it at all. there is absolutely nothing to do here. There is nothing to keep yourself occupied here. There are no cinemas, pubs, nightclubs, theatres, anything that you might like to do in Ireland at night, there is no such thing available. You have to carry your passport on you the whole time as spot checks by the local police are a daily occurence and serious hassle if you dont have it. You have to travel by car everywhere. There are no footpaths and everything is well spread out. The people aren't the most friendly in the world either. If you go to a restaurant, oyu have to sit in the male only section and if you sit in the female or family section you can be arrested by the religious police who are always on the prowl. As you probably know alcohol is completely illegal, although like drugs in Ireland, you can always get your hands on it. If the money was fantastic and only for a few months then maybe, that's up to you but I certainly wouldn't. I am only here for 2 week stints at a time so I can get out of there but for you well maybe not. Dont hesitate to contact me
thanks for that,
i've decided not to go, money wasnt worth it really and it was 18 weeks on 4 weeks off, if was like a month at a time i would have jumped at it to see it for the month and not go back but 18 weeks was too much, what you said is exactly what i've heard about it from anybody i spoken to.
thanks for the reply
